Lighthouse UMC Groundbreaking 2006

Why NCD? Holston Conference leaders were inspired by evidence that Natural Church Development can help invigorate churches. In the Florida United Methodist Conference, for instance, 12 churches in Orlando saw these results in the second year of NCD:

  • Members received by profession of faith increased 90 percent, compared with a district-wide decline of 14 percent.
  • The number of persons removed by transfer to other United Methodist churches decreased 21 percent, compared with a district-wide increase of 54 percent.
  • Attendance in short-term small groups increased 75 percent, while other churches in the district experienced a 16 percent decline.

What is NCD?

How is Holston Conference involved in NCD?

If I attended training at Cokesbury Center on Oct. 8, what is my church's next step?

If I attended the coaches' training on Oct. 9-10, what is my next step?

If I haven't attended training – but want to find out more about NCD – what should I do?

Where can I send my other questions about NCD?
